This work of poetry is a social experiment on how people interpret different forms of art (in this case images shot by Ligerian Optics, on Ceasar Beach, Margibi County). The images were shared with the collaboration authors to write a stanza to each image as they are led. We thought to share with you (our readers) how one thing can mean different things to different people. Hopefully, this gives you a deeper appreciation for other perspectives and the diversity of art.
In a world with a few billion lost souls,
She found light in being true to self and lived
In a dying planet with melting icebergs,
She gave life and poured her heart in all she did.
Peace in presence, soul and being;
She sought, strived and fought to achieve
Then she thought she ought to open up
To allow her peace from within to flow into lost hearts
Then he came along, trying to keep up
Him, she liked even though she played tough
She didn’t want to rush, they both has messed to clean up
Through it all, he dived deeper, seeking his diamond in the rough
The thing about strong women that people tend to forget
Is that strong doesn’t equate to superhuman
He needed help and care, so he took and took from her
Forgetting that no one can give endlessly without needing to replenish
As she gave her heart and health,
He grabbed on, feeding his ego and increasing his wealth
To the world, this was normal, it met their expectations
Her folding and making room for his wants at her own expense was not a thing to question
But she awakened and decided to put herself first, regardless of society’s expectation
Now she rides, a Queen without the recognition
We see this everyday in the world around us. He feeds from Her and think himself a God.
The message is clear.
This is a nice one.
