Women, Stand Up!

Isn’t it the screams and pains from the room you labor,

That makes the man who boasts about strength and hard labor?

Isn’t it the knowledge and wisdom of the mind,

That endows the man who claims to be the smartest amongst all its kind?

Isn’t it your toils and tears that waters life’s garden,

That gives the audacity to the man who believes the world is his – making him your warden?

Isn’t it your sacrifices from a heart of gold,

That allows the man to be where he is; who for ego, gratitude he’s sold?

Isn’t it time you step out and take credit,

That the man who takes up your position won’t have it, but he’ll get your legacy as merit?

Women, stand up!

You deserve it!

Women, stand up!

You owe yourself it!

Women, stand up!

You owe it to me, don’t sit!

Women, stand up!

You owe it to the girl with no hope.

Women, stand up!

You owe it to the girl dragged down from the use of dope.

Women, stand up!

You owe it to women all around the world.

Women, stand up!

Yes it’s a plea; please stand up!
