They say love works in mysterious ways,
but I was never a believer.
For I had lost many battles
on the battlefield of love.
However, I was struck still
by an enchanted sight of beauty
like I had stared into the eyes of the Medusa.
By just a look at her tender body,
an inhale of the sweet aroma her skin produced,
a stare into her golden-brown eyes
that made me see her heart was as pure as snow.
Fast forward, Love worked its wonders
and our hearts drew together like magnets.
You can call me the fool that lived on Lovers’ street
for I had fallen for another man’s Angel.
Was it her smile that melted my ice cold heart?
Was it the glow that emanated from her goddess-like body?
Was it the way she believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself?
Whatever it was, it took me by surprise and had me falling hard.
For our love, though secret, but was breathtaking.
They say “All good things must come to an end,”
but I was never a believer.
Then she hit me with those poisonous words of dark magic,
“I can’t do this anymore.”
Sinking my heart deep into the abyss,
drowning me in a pool of sorrows.
Fast forward to today,
I miss the sound of her calm voice in my ears
I miss our wet kisses and the ecstasy
our bodies brought on when we made love.
I miss the way she brought me alive on the dancefloor.
I was a fool to think that our love had a future
for it was hopeless right from the start
but if Fate ever smiles in our direction again,
Our love’s story will be the greatest ever written or told.
My heart is out there in the wilderness;
therefore, I must pause till it comes back to me.
