Who We Are

Sleepless in Monrovia is a platform created to showcase Liberia’s literary creativity, with emphasis on female writers. This platform is also dedicated to giving voice to various social justice and societal issues affecting Liberians, especially marginalized Liberian women. We are pan-African, feminist and humanitarian enthusiasts who believe a huge percentage of the world’s problems could be solved by open dialogues in safe spaces that inspire action.

Vision

A community for Liberian writers to explore, create, thrive and discover their best selves. We aim to use writing to change the narrative on social justice, literature, and controversial issues in the Liberian societies around the world.
